They say you never get a second chance to make a first impression. The three piece suit has always been a symbol of respect, class and dignity among men. For decades, a man dressed in a three piece suit is leaving a lasting first impression on all who cross his path. He is commanding respect without saying a word.
Emcees Chachi Carvalho, Swann Notty, and producer J. DePina found a way to stay relevant throughout the years and have had successful independent solo careers. They have remained true to their perspective styles and have each maintained integrity and commanded respect in a game that isn't cut out for the weak minded individual. They have proved that the strong not only survive... they also thrive and get better. Much like a fine wine, it is safe to say that these three artists have aged to perfection.
These young men decided to combine forces and create a collaborative album under the name THR33 PIECE SUIT. The idea was to produce a record that was reminiscent of the boom bap sound that dominated the airwaves in the early to mid 90's. In just 3 weeks time, the album "BRAND NEW VINTAGE" was recorded and ready to be pressed and released to the public. DJ Mekalek and DJ Cadillac Jack added their turntablism skills to bring a little old school touch to this instantly classic masterpiece. The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Edgar "Vertygo" Cruz at BEATBOX STUDIO in Pawtucket, RI.
THR33 PIECE SUIT is more than just a hip hop group. They are a reminder that persistence and perseverance produce amazing results. They are living proof that hip hop is alive and thriving. They are reviving a community of hip hop fans who were losing faith in the culture. They are fresh to death and they are dispelling the myth that you shouldn't mix business with friendship. If you are a real fan of real hip hop, this album really is a breath of fresh air... put on your happy face and just breathe it in.
